After ten years as a teacher, I have found my forever career here at The Arndt Agency. I had been searching and praying for something BIG to happen; I wanted a career where I could truly be myself, put my skills to use, help others, and feel energized at the end of the day. I found all of that (and more) when I took the leap and left teaching to start my career as the Executive Hiring Manager for The Arndt Agency.
I grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota and attended the University of North Dakota where I earned my master's degree in education. I have always prided myself on working hard and giving 100% in whatever I do. I was blessed to work with so many wonderful people throughout my teaching career, and while it was not meant to be my final landing place, I would not take back a moment of it. I believe that the journey is just as important as the destination, and having those years of experiencing a "not quite right" career for myself makes me appreciate what I have now all the more.
Never in a million years did I think that my dream career would include insurance, but when I met Amanda and learned how completely different Family Heritage and the The Arndt Agency were from any other insurance company or agency out there, my interest was piqued. From there, it grew daily as I met more of the team members and saw what a caring, genuine, hard working organization it was. Amanda saw me the way I see myself; she recognized my strengths and made it clear that she wanted to work with me. I saw her passion and caring leadership, and I wanted to be a part of that. The rest, as they say, is history!
There are so many things that I love about my career at The Arndt Agency. First would be the flexibility. My husband Patrick and I always put our family first, and this career allows me to attend every single important event for our children (Cade, 11, and Isla, 8), as well as spend time together doing our favorite things. We love to take ski trips in the winter and lake trips in the summer. I love being able to live the balanced life I have always wanted, with plenty of fresh air and time outside with my family. I am also so grateful for the friendships I have made with my co-workers. I know that at any time I could call up any one of them for any reason, whether it was for advice, to celebrate success, or to pick me up on a difficult day. I would do the same for any of them! Last, but not least, I love being able to offer this incredible career to others. Every day is different, and I wake up excited to find out who I will meet next and how we will impact more lives at The Arndt Agency!
