How did I get here?
I believe that “free will” defines us on a daily basis. It gives us the power and freedom to choose among the many opportunities that lie before us at any given moment. At which point, we then are able to either enjoy the outcomes or face the consequences of those decisions.
I can confidently say that looking back, I now see how the choices I’ve made defined who I am today. I spent the first 13 years of my career in the Marketing & Technology world pouring myself into my work for incredible (and unhealthy) amount of hours, with little recognition or additional compensation. My hard work meant profit for someone else, while my family life and personal health paid for it. But that was a choice that I made. No one else. Why? ... because I was passionate about my job, I loved my incredibly talented and caring work-family, and I believed in what we were doing and accomplishing as a team. At the time, it was culturally one of the best places to work in the state. It was truly my second home as I spent more time there than anywhere else. But change needed to happen.
I moved on from that career to start my own business in the publishing world. I chose to embark on an incredibly scary, yet rewarding entrepreneurial life by owning and running my own magazines with an amazing national franchise that put its people first (well, God first, then it’s people and philanthropy). So many blessings came from this. And I only found this opportunity, after I decided that I was never going to “work for someone else” again. If I was going to pour myself in to something, I wanted to ensure that our family, church and the non-profits that we love would be the ones to benefit from it. I knew then that the harder I worked, the more I would be able to give ... and that I was in control of it, no one else.
Enter COVID-19. Suddenly everything was turned upside down – for all of us, right? Businesses were closing left and right, and my publications were impacted greatly as a result. During this uncertain time, a dear friend of mine happened to mention Globe Life Family Heritage as a new opportunity that she was exploring for herself. She explained the history of the company, their approach to returning the premiums of their policyholders if they didn’t need the coverage, and the lack of limitations (not only on the policies themselves, but on the potential for personal and financial growth working with them as an agent). Once I heard all of that, I knew this would be a smart long-term strategy for my family to compliment my short-term goals with my publications. After A LOT of research, I knew this company is where I needed to be for many of the same reasons I had joined my publication family. So I chose to take the leap, and I will never regret it.
Why Family Heritage?
The opportunity that Family Heritage offers allows me the freedom to set my schedule and never miss an event for my kids. I work HARD when I’m on, and I enjoy being fully present when I’m off. I work for myself, my family, and the people and businesses that I protect. I pave the path for my own success, so I know that the sky is the limit when it comes to the financial impact that I can make within our community through my efforts, and that motivates me. The harder I work, the more I can do for those I love and the more people that I can protect with industry-leading coverage that could truly save them financially during a time of need. So rewarding!
This position also allows me to take my strengths and experiences and use them to positively impact every person I come in contact with; whether it’s protecting a family and being the light during some of their darkest days, or if it’s bringing this career opportunity to more individuals like myself who are driven, self-motivated and passionate about serving others. Is that you? You have the free will to choose a different career path for yourself... but are you willing to take the chance?
“Making a big change in life is pretty scary, but regret is even scarier. The choice is yours...”
So if you want to explore this unique opportunity, don’t wait. Just reach out and let's grab a coffee together so I can simply share about what I do and help you better understand how, or if, this is right for you. I can only assume that if you’ve read this far ... you’re obviously curious about it, and something has held your interest this long, so run with it. What would it hurt to enjoy connecting over a great cup of Joe?
I hope to meet you soon.
